Bio
Honoria Balogh earned a master’s degree in English and Russian language education from Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia, and a second master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Born and raised in Slovakia in a bilingual Slovak-Hungarian family, she has been living in the United States since 1997.
She has been working for the Iowa Valley Community College District in various capacities since 1998 and joined the ranks of full-time faculty at Ellsworth Community College in 2012.
In her spare time, Honoria volunteers as a 4-H leader, cheers for the Iowa State University Cyclones, loves reading, sewing, traveling, eating chocolate, drinking coffee, and spending time with her husband and two daughters. Her first name is pronounced a-NOR-ee-ah (rhymes with Victoria).
