Continuing Education Positions Open

  • Instructors for the 66 hour (classroom and lab) Medication Aide Course. Must be Iowa RN with at least two years of experience and one year in long-term care, assisted living, residential care, intermediate care, intermediate care for the intellectually disabled, psychiatric medical institutions for children, or psychiatric medical institution. Must be familiar with medications included in the curriculum.
  • Instructors for the 75 hour (classroom, lab, clinical) Certified Nurse Aide Course. Must be Iowa RN with at least two years of experience and one year in the provision of long-term care facility services. Classroom and laboratory instruction will take place in area high schools and Iowa Valley Continuing Education centers.
  • Clinical Instructors for the 75 hour Certified Nurse Aide Course.  Must be Iowa RN or Iowa LPN with at least two years of experience and one year in the provision of long-term care facility services. The 30 hour clinical experience will take place in area long-term care facilities.
  • Skills Evaluator for the Certified Nurse Aide State Competency Exam. Must be Iowa RN with at least one year experience in providing care for the elderly or the chronically ill of any age.
  • Patient for the Certified Nurse Aide State Competency Exam. Must be over age 18 and willing to wear a hospital gown and play the part of the patient scenario provided for the competency exam. Students will take your blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respirations; feed you; brush your teeth; transfer you from bed to chair; and provide other personal medical services.
