Duree, IVCCD Marketing earn NCMPR honors

Duree receives NCMPR Pacesetter Award

Dewey Price presents the NCMPR District 5 Pacesetter of the Year award to Dr. Chris Duree, IVCCD Chancellor.

Dr. Chris Duree, IVCCD Chancellor, received the Pacesetter of the Year Award at this week’s National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 5 conference in Lincoln, NE. The award recognizes “a president or CEO at a two-year community or technical college or district office who has demonstrated leadership and support in the area of college communications and marketing.”

In presenting the award, District 5 Director Dewey Price said, “During his five-year tenure as Chancellor, Dr. Chris Duree has turned the direction of Iowa Valley Community College District by 180 degrees. IVCCD’s commitment to The Higher Learning Commission’s AQIP accreditation model has evolved under his leadership into an employee-driven, institution-wide focus on continuous quality improvement (CQI) where decisions are based on data and communications are transparent. IVCCD now has a strategic planning and quality improvement process that is considered a model for other institutions. Employee awareness of the District’s vision, mission and core values is up. Employee involvement/engagement is up. Annual communication survey results indicate employees are very satisfied with District communications. And Iowa Valley received four consecutive Top Workplaces Awards based on positive employee responses to the annual Top Workplace Survey.”

As the 2015 District 5 Pacesetter of the Year, Dr. Duree will be one of seven candidates considered for the NCMPR National Pacesetter of the Year Award, which will be presented in March 2016 at the national conference in St. Louis, MO.

In addition to Dr. Duree’s Pacesetter of the Year honors, the IVCCD Marketing Office received two publication awards. Michele Frost, Marketing Coordinator, received a Silver Medallion Award for the Iowa Valley Continuing Education EdVenture Class Schedule, and Graphic Designer Ann Rubenbauer received a Bronze Medallion Award for outdoor banners celebrating the 125th anniversary on the Ellsworth Community College campus in Iowa Falls.
