IVCCD Board Reviews Information Gathering Request for IT Infrastructure

The Board also heard a request for network assessment services by DataVizion. A full network assessment will be conducted to determine the current state of the District’s network (wired and wireless). The results will be used to develop an updated network design that follows industry best practices. This design will be incorporated into a request for proposal (RFP) for the bond referendum network infrastructure refresh project.

Responding to COVID-19

The Board heard details of the CARES Act, which provides funding for students and the college to offset the financial impact of COVID-19. Funds will be awarded to students in the form of grants, and the college will use funds to improve distance learning opportunities. Chancellor Dr. Kristie Fisher shared an overview of how each department in the IVCCD has collaborated to ensure that educational outcomes are maintained while distance learning.

Bond Issue

Work groups have begun meeting with OPN Architects to discuss the scope of the renovation to the campuses in Marshalltown, Iowa Falls and Grinnell locations.

The IVCCD Board went into closed session to discuss collective bargaining but took no action upon returning to open session.

The next regular meeting of the IVCCD Board will be Wednesday, May 13, at 4:00 p.m. via video conference.
