Bid Opening Dates Announced
MARSHALLTOWN – At their January 13 meeting, the Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors held a public hearing and approved the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost for the Iowa Valley Community College District – Ellsworth Community College Locker Rooms and Activity Center project and set the date for the bid opening for February 17, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Iowa Valley Continuing Education Conference Center (Door #11), Rooms 608/610 in Marshalltown.
They also reset the date for a public hearing on the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost for the Marshalltown Interior Renovations Project on February 10, 2021, at 4:00 p.m.
Voluntary Retirement Approved for IVCCD Faculty and Staff
The Board approved voluntary early retirement applications from two additional employees, including Greg Metzen (25 years) and Antonio Marquez (10 years). The Board previously approved at their November and December meetings applications from the following faculty and staff members: Hashem Hashemi-Toroghi (32 years), Brenda Heitmeyer (19 years), Carrie Osborn (25 years), Kathy Pink (23 years), Jan Seim (22 years), Donna Thompson (10 years), Barb Wright (33 years). At the November Board meeting, applications for voluntary early retirement from George Johnson, Kevin Cartier, and Dave Engle were approved as well.
In other action, the Board approved an amendment to the contract with Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services, an attendance software agreement with aPlus+, and student activity fee budgets for ECC, Iowa Valley Grinnell, and MCC.
Bill and Jennifer Horton/Bar H Photography have donated a 2007 Brown Gelding, “Good Good Good (aka Doug)”, to the Ellsworth Community College Equestrian program for educational purposes at a donor declared value of $4,800.00. Martin Marietta has donated $300.00 to Ellsworth Community College to be used where needed.
The next board meeting is scheduled for February 10, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. and will be held via Zoom.
