IVCCD Board Approves Construction Plans
MARSHALLTOWN – The Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors approved plans for a new residence hall on the Ellsworth campus. Construction of a new residence hall on the Ellsworth Community College campus could begin as early as June if the bidding process goes smoothly. The new residence hall aims to provide 127 beds and be an energy-efficient building.
The Board also set the date for the public hearing on the Marshalltown exterior building improvements project, which includes the precast exterior walls and roofs.
Approval of Contract with Inceptia
The Board approved a plan to work with Inceptia, a part of the National Student Loan Program. The partnership will streamline the financial aid process by providing students with a self-help website that guides them through each step of the financial aid verification process.
Summer Credit Programs Approved
The Board approved a summer college credit program with the Montezuma and Grinnell-Newburg school districts. Iowa Valley anticipates additional schools will offer summer credit hours to students via this program.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for May 12, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. and will be held via Zoom.
