Sociology Transfer Major FT

Semester 1

• Meet with advisor to establish student education plan, two-way communication and academic partnership
• Ensure all Financial Aid documentation is submitted for current academic year.
• Complete FAFSA for next academic year starting on October 1^st.

Semester 2

• Fill out Scholarship Application
• Meet with transfer school representative regarding general education core requirements
• Meet with advisor to schedule next academic year courses beginning April 1^st.

Semester 3

• Meet with academic advisor for halfway checkpoint.
• Apply to transfer institution
• Apply for graduation (if not already completed)
• Complete FAFSA for next academic year starting on October 1^st

Semester 4

• Student must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher in all courses to ensure graduation.
• Request transcripts sent to transfer institution.
• Attend Commencement
• Celebrate completion!

Recommended Electives:

• Most universities require a foreign language. If Spanish is not taken, consider Sign Language or another foreign language course.

• Most universities will require MAT 158 or equivalent

• If students do not take PEH 110, then two activity PE courses are required.

• Only offered Spring semester online

• Only offered at MCC as hybrid course Fall semester, or as internet class during the summer.
