Board Approved New Jobs Training Certificates

IOWA FALLS – The IVCCD Board of Directors approved a 260F jobs training with RAYCOM, a Marshalltown-based company that designs, sells, installs, and maintains all the technologies used in the “second half of the 911 response equation.” This includes specialized phone systems, radios, pagers, voice recorders, warning lights/sirens, dispatch console furniture and equipment. This will be the second training contract between Iowa Valley and RAYCOM. Training will cover leadership development for current managers.

Board Approves Calendar for 2023-24 Academic Year, Fee Adjustment

The Board approved an academic calendar for the 2023-24 academic year. Notably, the calendar adds a Juneteenth holiday, which will be commemorated by faculty and staff with a day of service or another celebration. The Board also approved a fee adjustment for several courses for the coming academic year.

Additionally, the Board approved an early retirement package for four District employees: Burke Aschan, HVAC Technician; Antonio Marquez, MCC Custodian; Mark Monroe, MCC Mathematics Faculty; and MaryAnne Nickle, Iowa Valley Grinnell Dean.  Employees are eligible for early retirement after 10 years of service to the District, once they reach the age of 55.

 

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for November 14, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. and will be offered via Zoom.
