Board Appreciation Month Celebrated In May
IVCCD Recognizes the Value of the Board of Directors

May is Board Appreciation Month, a special time to express our sincere gratitude for the dedicated individuals who serve on the Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors. Throughout the month, we acknowledge their invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment to our students’ success and our community’s vitality.
The Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD) proudly recognizes the hard work, leadership, and vision of our Board of Directors. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the wider community, they ensure that our colleges – Ellsworth Community College, Marshalltown Community College, and Iowa Valley Grinnell – provide accessible, high-quality education and diverse opportunities for all learners.

Their dedication goes far beyond meetings; they invest countless hours in strategic planning, policy oversight, community engagement, and advocating for our students and the district as a whole,” said Dr. Anne Howsare Boyens, President of IVCCD. “Their guidance is essential in ensuring we remain a leading education provider and a vital resource for our region.”
The Board of Directors is entrusted with significant responsibilities, including overseeing the district’s budget, establishing policies that promote a positive and supportive learning environment, and making crucial decisions that impact our students and the broader community. Their ongoing commitment ensures that Iowa Valley continues to evolve and meet the changing needs of our students, preparing the next generation of skilled professionals, community leaders, and engaged citizens.

To express our deep appreciation, Iowa Valley Community College District will formally recognize our Board of Directors at their regular monthly meeting on May 14 at 3:30 pm ahead of the Board Meeting at 4:00 pm. We warmly invite media representatives, students, faculty, staff, and community members to join us in celebrating the exceptional contributions of our Board of Directors.
