Iowa Valley Phi Theta Kappa Announces All-Academic Team

2024-all-academic-ptk-honors During the annual state-wide banquet, Iowa Valley Community College District honored several students from Marshalltown Community College (MCC), Ellsworth Community College (ECC), and Iowa Valley Grinnell (IVG) for their academic achievements. The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society selected the following students for the All-Academic Team:

Xavian Andrews – Andrews is a student at ECC, majoring in Liberal Arts with a focus on athletic training. His future plans are to become a Doctor of PT. He is a dynamic college athlete with a passion for both sports and style, he’s the creative force behind an up-and-coming clothing brand. He tries to balance the clothing brand and being a college athlete. He wants to excel on the field and make an impact in the fashion world.

Riley Clampitt – Clampitt is a student at IVG who is graduating in May with an AAS in Gunsmith Technology, after which he intends to work for a gunsmith in order to gain experience in the trade.

Ashlynn Graff – Graff is a student at IVG studying Elementary Education. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue her bachelor’s degree at the University of Northern Iowa.

Jenna Hill – Hill is a biology major at ECC. Next year, she plans to return to ECC to complete the Certified Medical Assistant program. Then, she hopes to continue working toward earning a bachelor’s in biology, and ultimately attend Physician Assistant school.

Nikita McNamee – A Liberal Arts major at MCC, McNamee has earned a spot on the Dean’s list every semester, has received recognition for Outstanding Student for Literature, Outstanding Student for Composition and Writing, Provost’s Award, served as Phi Theta Kappa Vice President, and Ecology Club President. She plans to pursue her doctorate in English and Creative Writing, with an end goal of becoming an English Professor.

Eleora Sheets – A Biology major at MCC, Sheets has earned her spot on the Dean’s list all semesters, has participated in the Honors Program, has been awarded the Graether Family Scholarship, serves as a Phi Theta Kappa Officer, STEM Club Officer, SWORD/Tabletop Roleplay Club Officer, and was a member of Book Club. After graduation, she plans to transfer to Iowa State University, and hopes to help restore and protect the environment.

Sierra Veverka – A student at IVG, Veverka plans to graduate from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Family Services and a minor in Mental Health Counseling.

Kael Wiese – Wiese is a student at IVG, and will graduate in May with an AAS in Gunsmith Technology. He plans to open his own gunsmith/machining shop.

The PTK All-Academic Team recognizes high-achieving college students who demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society.
