IVCCD Board Approves Investments in Student Services, Accessibility
The Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD) Board of Directors took action on items supporting district operations, accessibility, and student success during its April 8, 2026 meeting at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
Budget and Operational Actions
Following a public hearing, the Board approved the District’s FY2027 certified budget, as previously adopted in March.
The Board also approved a $94,000 consulting agreement with Ferrilli to evaluate and optimize the District’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) and student information system. The project will assess current processes and identify opportunities to improve system use and streamline operations.
Additional approvals included a five-year dining services agreement and concurrent enrollment agreements with 15 regional school districts to expand college access for high school students.
Accessibility Plan and Tools Approved
The Board approved the District’s Digital Accessibility and ADA Title II Compliance Plan, outlining a coordinated approach to improving access across websites, digital content, and learning environments in alignment with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
The Board also approved a three-year agreement for Blackboard Ally, an accessibility tool integrated into the District’s learning management system to support faculty and improve access to course materials for all students.
Tuition Adjustment for FY27
The Board approved a $7 per credit hour tuition increase for resident and non-resident students at Ellsworth Community College and Marshalltown Community College, reflecting current budget forecasts and state aid projections.
Workforce Development Action
Additional actions included approval of resolutions related to Industrial New Jobs Training (260E) program, supporting workforce development initiatives across the region. This action is part of the bonding process that allows the District to partner with local employers to provide customized training for new and expanding businesses, helping companies onboard and upskill employees while strengthening the regional workforce.
Panthers Recognized
Ellsworth Community College’s men’s basketball team was recognized for its national runner-up finish at the NJCAA Championship under Head Coach Bryan Bender. The team also earned 14 first-team Academic All-Americans (GPA 3.50+) and one second-team selection following the Fall 2025 term.
