IVCCD Board Learns About Enrollment Trends

MARSHALLTOWN – The Board of Directors learned about a dip in Fall 2021 enrollment at the Iowa Valley Community College District. The Board reviewed a report on student demographics, comparing the current year to previous years in the areas of gender, race, ethnicity, residency, and age. Current credit enrollment for the District is 2,486 students, made up of full-time, part-time, and concurrent enrollment students. The dip in enrollment accounts for 2.78 percent of credit hours from the previous year.

Board Approves Substantial Completion on Gunsmith Lab

The Board approved a Certificate of Substantial Completion for the Iowa Valley Grinnell Gunsmithing and Entry Improvements Project. The substantial completion date was October 1, 2021. A grand re-opening of the facility will be held on Tuesday, November 9 from 4-6:00 p.m., and the public is invited to attend.

Board Approves Lease Agreement

The Board approved a lease agreement between Iowa Valley Community College District and the Hardin County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach office. The lease provides office and meeting space in the Ellsworth Community College Agricultural and Renewable Energy Center at the Hamilton Campus. It is a 5-year contract. The lease will amount to $1,550 per month plus a phone service fee of $20 per month for each extension.

 

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for November 10, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. and will be held via Zoom.
