IVCCD Board Reviewed Employee Benefits

MARSHALLTOWN – The IVCCD Board of Directors received a presentation about employee benefits during the regular meeting on Wednesday.  Angela Villhauer of Mercer told the board the preferred provider organization (PPO) insurance plan the college has was grandfathered, which means it was purchased before March 23, 2010. When a plan is grandfathered, significant changes, such as to copays, cannot be made. If changes are made, the grandfathered status is lost. Dr. fisher will make preliminary recommendations to the board in September.

Board Approves 260F Jobs Training Agreement with Cargill

The Board approved a 260F Job Training Agreement with Cargill, Inc in Iowa Falls. Cargill seeks to provide training in industrial maintenance, including welding and will leverage the new welding training lab at Ellsworth Community College.

Board Approves Agreement with Achieve Mental Health, Inc.

The Board approved extending the agreement with Achieve Mental Health, Inc. to provide mental health services to students in Iowa Falls. This is the fourth year of the contract, and rates have remained steady. This year, there will be an intern on-site, supervised by the Achieve professional staff.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for September 13, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. and will be available via Zoom.
