Two longtime members of the Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD) Board of Directors, Deborah Jones and Paul W. Pohlson, were honored for their dedicated service during the Community Colleges for Iowa Summer Trustees Conference, held at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.
This year, the state association introduced a new 15 Years of Service Award to recognize board members with significant tenure, in addition to its other longevity and leadership awards.
Deborah Jones, who joined the IVCCD Board in 2008, was presented with the 15 Years of Service Award in recognition of her steadfast commitment to the District. Now in her 17th year of service, Jones has demonstrated exceptional dedication to IVCCD’s mission and its students.
Paul W. Pohlson also received the 15 Years of Service Award. Appointed to the board in 2006, Pohlson has served for nearly two decades. He was recognized not only for his long-standing commitment but also for his advocacy, vision, and continued contributions to the board
“We are incredibly proud of Deb and Paul for their unwavering dedication to the Iowa Valley Community College District,” said Dr. Anne Howsare Boyens, IVCCD President. “Their leadership has played a vital role in shaping the future of our District and enhancing opportunities for the students and communities we serve.”
The Community Colleges for Iowa Trustee Conference is an annual professional development event that brings together community college board members and leaders from across the state to share insights, celebrate achievements, and strengthen governance practices.
