A Century of Building What’s Next

In May 1927, a Marshalltown high school principal counted up enough preregistered seniors to justify opening a junior college that fall. Fifty-three students showed up. A hundred years later, that college has grown into a district serving thousands across central Iowa — and it’s still doing what it did in 1927: opening doors that would otherwise stay closed.
