We are committed to helping you achieve your educational goals. At Marshalltown Community College (MCC), we offer a variety of academic support services and resources designed to assist every unique student on their path to success.

Student Success Center

The Student Success Center (SSC), located in room 412 E in B.J. Harrison Library, is your hub for academic assistance. We're open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm when college classes are in session. You can reach us at 641-844-5751.

The SSC provides a supportive environment with amenities like computer work areas, individual and group study and tutoring areas, accessible accommodations, a laser printer, and computers with internet access and most software programs required for MCC courses.

Our supportive services include:

• Tutoring Services: Peer tutoring is offered by MCC students who have successfully completed courses in subjects such as computer concepts, sciences, and business. Subject availability varies by semester. Students who would like tutoring or would like to become a tutor can fill out the application found here.
• Writing Assistance: Available during the fall and spring semesters, our writing assistant provides suggestions and specific instructions to help you successfully complete writing assignments for many MCC courses. Feel free to seek assistance at any stage of the writing process.
• Math Assistance: A former mathematics faculty member provides math assistance during the fall and spring semesters.
• Hours: For both writing and math assistance, hours may vary per semester; help is available by dropping by the Student Success Center. All tutoring for MCC students is free.
