The Collegiate Veterans Association (CVA) at MCC is a supportive community dedicated to helping student veterans, active-duty members, and their families successfully transition to college life. As a chapter of the Student Veterans of America, we foster a "veterans helping veterans" environment while educating the campus community on the unique strengths and needs of those who have served. Are you interested in the natural world? The Ecology Club at Marshalltown Community College is for you! Our club meetings feature engaging speakers and activities focused on conservation, plants, animals, and sustainable living. We also love taking field trips to local natural areas and zoos. Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at MCC provides a supportive community where students, athletes, and coaches can integrate their faith with their daily lives and athletic pursuits. Join us to grow spiritually, find encouragement, and explore how your faith can impact your performance, leadership, and overall journey. The IT Club gives students of all backgrounds and majors an opportunity to explore the world of technology using fun and informational activities. Students who join will enjoy enriching their resumes with IT related projects such as our PC clinic, field trips to datacenters, and even an officer role. Our game nights and gaming tournaments are a great way to take a break from College life and de-stress. Come for the snacks and the fun! Join us in Lab 219 twice a month. The LGBTQ+ Alliance at Marshalltown Community College (MCC) is a student group for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies. Our mission is to provide support within the LGBTQ+ community and among allies, and to educate the MCC community about LGBTQ+ issues. Celebrate diversity and connect with students from around the globe! The Multicultural Club provides  students with opportunities for encounters with different cultures, promotes peaceful relationships among people from different cultures, and helps students from other countries adapt to US culture. The club is open to all students, both from the US and other countries. The club hosts a variety of events such as salsa dancing lessons, international potlucks, game days, and trips to cultural events in other cities. The Pair a Docs Club at Marshalltown Community College is designed for students like you! Our club meetings and field trips offer valuable mentorship and advising on pre-professional coursework, exciting career exploration, and essential networking opportunities. You'll also build supportive relationships with fellow students and advisors. Our goal is to provide unique experiences that help you decide if a medical career is the right fit and empower you to achieve your professional aspirations.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the international academic honor society for two-year colleges, and Marshalltown Community College (MCC) is proud to host its Alpha Iota Rho chapter. Joining PTK is a chance to be recognized for your scholarship and connect with an international network of high-achieving scholars. Whether you're drawn by transfer scholarship opportunities, the chance to develop leadership skills, or simply the pride of being invited to an honor society, we celebrate your hard work and dedication to academics!

Eligibility and Benefits
To join, you must receive an invitation from the Alpha Iota Rho Chapter of PTK at MCC. You must earn a 3.50 GPA or higher in the semester preceding invitation, complete a minimum of 12 credits at MCC, enroll in a one-year diploma/certificate or a two-year degree program, and be currently enrolled at the time of invitation. All new members must pay a one-time membership fee. Members must maintain a 3.20 GPA to remain in good standing. New members are inducted each fall and spring semester, and you'll receive special recognition as an academic scholar during the graduation ceremony.

Students who were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa at other community colleges can transfer membership to MCC without any cost by showing proof of membership by providing a copy of their PTK Membership Certificate or PTK Membership Card.

The Residents Hall Association at Marshalltown Community College (MCC) is the voice of students living on campus. Get involved to plan fun events, advocate for resident needs, and enhance the living experience for everyone in MCC's residential complexes. Are you interested in a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)? The STEM Club at Marshalltown Community College (MCC) is open to all students and dedicated to helping you explore the exciting career and educational opportunities available in these fields. Our goal is to increase the number of students majoring in STEM programs at MCC.

We work to connect you with valuable summer undergraduate research experiences at institutions like Iowa State University, the Ames Laboratory, and the University of Iowa. Our students have also attended STEM conferences designed to link them with internships and research opportunities across the state. Past club activities have included engaging Lab Nights, a fun Halloween Haunted Trail, the BGM STEM Fair, and the REU Symposium. The Student Senate at MCC is the primary student government body, dedicated to representing your voice on campus! The Student Senate is composed of four executive officers and eight senators elected by the student body. Elections for executive officers are held each spring, and senator elections take place in the fall. If you're part of a student organization, make sure it has Student Senate representation, as this is required for funding eligibility.

The Student Senate sponsors several educational and social events throughout the year, including Student Appreciation Day and various awareness events. We also provide unique opportunities like attending Legislative Day at the Iowa State Legislature each year, where students can meet with representatives and senators to discuss issues affecting Iowa's community colleges. Ready for fun and games? The SWORD Club is MCC's ultimate hub for all things gaming! Join fellow students for exciting board game nights, thrilling video game tournaments, and a variety of casual gaming events.
